Tom Hughes has been actively involved in accounting since 1996. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Brigham Young University and a MBA/Master of International Management from top-ranked Thunderbird - The American Graduate School of International Management in Glendale, Arizona.
Tom has performed extensive development work and presented business strategy seminars in Germany and Russia. In Yekaterinberg, Russia he helped universities, businesses, and local government develop techniques for transitioning to a market economy and for improving business strategies. His work, research and graduate studies have focused on International Marketing, Accounting, and Europe. He is fluent in German and dabbles in Spanish.
Tom started an accounting firm out of his home in 1996. He continued to add forward-thinking accountants and staff through the years to develop Cedar City's premier accounting services firm. He has a complete knowledge of QuickBooks, helping bookkeepers and business owners understand and utilize their accounting records for better management of their business, as well as better tax planning.
He moved to Cedar City, Utah with his wife in 1996. Since then he has added three kids to the family and enjoys spending time with them in sports, the outdoors and music. His hobbies include playing the piano (and keyboard in his band) and the guitar. He has also been the Treasurer for the Iron County Builders Association since 2003.

Caroline Brown received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Southern Utah University and later graduated with a Master of Accountancy degree there in 2002. In school Ms. Brown conducted extensive legal research on cases dealing with the accountant's duty of confidentiality to their clients and the accountant-client privilege at the federal and state levels. Prior to her work in Cedar City, she also previously held a position at a Wyoming CPA firm in which she prepared complex tax returns and performed various bookkeeping duties.
At Hughes & Associates, Inc., Ms. Brown currently prepares personal and business tax returns. She also assists with entity formation, tax planning, and accounting functions of small businesses and has expert capabilities using the QuickBooks accounting program.
Ms. Brown enjoys traveling the world and participating in the community activities specific to Cedar City and Iron County. She enjoys participating and serving with the Cedar City Rotary Club where she is a past president of the club. She is fluent in Spanish.

Weston is a Finance and Marketing major at Southern Utah University where he will graduate in 2022. He is also fluent in multiple Filipino languages including Tagalog and Cebuano he has also studied Spanish. He will be married January of 2021 to his fiancé and they will continue to live and start their family here in Southern Utah. Weston is also currently in the process of becoming licensed and registered in the securities and insurance industry. He is currently licensed to sell life and health insurance including the healthcare marketplace, Medicare, and group health plans. Weston enjoys being outdoors. Some of his hobbies include; watersports, hiking, horseback riding, four-wheelers, and golf.

David D. Harris, MBA - International Business
David Harris received his BA degree from Brigham Young University, and a MBA degree from Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of International Management. Mr. Harris worked for several years with the Franklin Covey Company, where he was invovled in marketing, custom training coordination, and intranet development and management. Mr. Harris also worked with Raytheon Corporation's aircraft division with the Human Resources team and has experience in other sales and marketing positions.
Mr. Harris's studies have centered on Finance, as well as Asian culture and languages. Major projects have included evaluation of the telecommunications infrastructure in Singapore, an analysis of the Asian currency crisis of 1997, and study of the worldwide automotive industry. He is fluent in Japanese and has also studied Mandarin Chinese. Dave enjoys spending time with his wife, Heather, and their six children. He also enjoys music and is the drummer for the band "Spilbeedog."

Stephen P. Scott

Stephen "Paul" Scott received his Bachelor of Science Degree in International Business Management with a minor in Japanese, from Brigham Young University-Hawaii Campus in 1988. Paul started working at Hughes & Associates in September of 2014 as our Payroll Processor, and currently serves in that capacity. He processes payrolls weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly, monthly, quarterly and annually for approximately 90 clients.
Paul met his wife, who is half Japanese while attending BYU-Hawaii. They have six children. Paul has lived in many different places including Wyoming, Alaska, Hawaii, Japan, Washington State, Arizona, California and Utah. He enjoys the outdoors, hiking, rock hounding, carving walking staffs, watching movies with his family and playing with his grandkids when he has the chance.
Jessica R. Hulet, MAcc

Jessica Hulet received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Southern Utah University and graduated with a Master of Accountancy degree there in 2019. From a young age, Ms. Hulet has managed the books of her family's small businesses. Her love of accounting began from an accounting course during her sophomore year at Cedar High School.
Ms. Hulet has worked with us at Hughes and Associates, Inc. since 2014 as a staff accountant aiding in payroll processing, bookkeeping, compilations and reviews, and individual & business tax returns.

Ms. Hulet loves spending time in the mountains; four-wheeling, snowmobiling, hiking, star gazing or chasing her nieces and nephews around her family cabin.
Weston W. Adams

Weston W. Adams is the youngest member of our team. He was born
and raised here in Cedar City, Utah where he graduated from Canyon View High
School. Upon graduation he spent one year traveling the state and country as
the Utah FFA Association Vice President where he learned and practiced crucial
leadership and interpersonal skills. Weston has been heavily involved in the
agriculture and local communities here in Southern Utah throughout his life. He
plans to stay here close to family and dig his roots in deeper right here in
Iron County.

Tera Lucky, CPA, MAcc
Tera Lucky is a CPA who is well versed in the audit, tax, and bookkeeping sides of accounting.
She has worked for KPMG, one of the top 4 public accounting firms in the country, as well as small and mid-sized public accounting firms. She has run the financial side of several multi-million dollar businesses. Because of these skills, Tera understands how to navigate the logistics of big business but also understands the pitfalls and difficulties of running a small business. She also believes strongly in empowering women to not only succeed but to excel in today's business market.
Ms. Lucky has a Masters Degree in Accountancy from Southern Utah University, a CPA license, and has been in the accounting business for over 20 years.
Tera is the mother of two beautiful children and enjoys traveling the world with her husband any time they can break away. She is an outdoor enthusiast and has an active role in several charitable organizations and community groups.
